» Nintenzone BlackBerry Storm/iPhone/iTouch Wallpaper |

Simple, clean, and perfect. I made this wallpaper for the BlackBerry Storm, so I don't know how it will do on the iPhone or iTouch. I think it should work on the iPhone because the dimensions are almost the same. And I think it should work on the iTouch because the dimensions are the same as the iPhone. (Are they? I don't know.)

» Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party 2 - Review |

Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party 2
DDR, or Dance Dance Revolution, is excellent video game; truly. You can enjoy a video game environment and get tons of exercise! What could be better? Now let's start with the actual review...
First things first, the game will definitly seem easy at first to the more experienced player, but will be a nightmare for the beginner. If you are just starting to play this series, you will end up panting at a screen saying "FAILED". But don't give up! About a week's worth of practice and you will be playing Basic to Difficult!
One of the best new features to this game would be the ability to play as your Mii. Isn't awesome to see your Mii dancing on the dance floor? Did I mention, that unlike the other games in DDR series, the characters in this game actually do dances opposed to random movements. What a improvement!
Suprisingly, this game has great graphics as far as Wii games go. These pictures don't exactly show it, but they aren't really good pictures... Some of the stages have graphics almost as awesome as the ones found on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. (A great game.)
You'll have to check out the new-and-improved Groove Arena Mode. In this, there are challenges that you try to complete to unlock new characters, stages, songs, and more! If you happen to be an experienced player, and find the game kind of easy, you should definitly play this. There are many hard songs just waiting to be unlocked!
There are also many new modes to try. Buy the game and play 'em all! (I couldn't find any pictures...) There are more Gimmicks, too! And then, as usual, DDR: Hottest Party 2 has all of the typical features of a DDR game. Still great.
Ratings
Graphics: 9.5
Gameplay: 10.0
Storyline: Storyline? Where?!
Overall Rating...
9.75
Great! Buy the Game!

» Diddy Kong Racing DS Review |
|
Dec 19, 2008 - 8:55 PM - by ttwashere
|
The only kart racing franchise to sucessfully compete with nintendo's own Mario Kart series was Diddy Kong Racing developed by RARE. Rare has since been bought by Microsoft but still produces games for Nintendos handhelds. They have agreed with Nintendo to port over Diddy Kong Racing to fans delight. Does it hold up? Yes.
Rare developing for Nintendo = sucess
What differentiates Diddy Kong Racing from Mario Kart are two things: weapons and vehicles. In DKRDS you can upgrade your different weapons, also you can fly a plane, drive a kart or use a hovercraft. The game uses this all in a great Adventure mode that will find you competing in several different locales.
Custom levels ftw even though its limited
If you've played the original you should expect about the same game, the graphics have gotten a small overhaul and look slightly better than the original, also the great soundtrack is back. Sadly, Banjo and Conker are not playable this time and are now replaced with Dixie and Tiny Kong. New unlockable characters are: Wizpig and Taj.
Back and fatter than ever
There are several different game-modes. You've got the deepest online racing action on the DS, Time Trial modes with TT (sadly its not me ), and the Adventure. The time trials will take time to beat but if you do complete it you unlock a powerful racer in TT. Also the online is superb. You'll find many different modes that you can play online. From battle type modes to normal races.
It's time to pwn n00bs online
The DS specific features are hit or miss. The hits are: Online Play and custom levels. The misses are: The boost you can get by drawing circles on your touch screen at the beginning of the race and the new boss battles that make you use the DS' touch screen. Whoever in RARE thought you should drive with the touch-screen should be shot. Anyways the game is fun and has a lot of replayability in its Adventure and Online modes.

No I will not spin you!
Please comment on the review, constructive criticism would be appreciated. Also ask any questions you have about said game here.
Final Score:
Gameplay - 8
The core game is solid but some of the added stuff is a pain.
Graphics- 8
Very nice graphics for the Nintendo DS
Sound- 8
Some great tunes that will have you humming.
Replay Value- 9
Online, two adventure modes and a ton of other modes will keep you playing.
Overall- 33/40
Grading Scale (nicely stolen from Portable Review):
0 = This score should be harder to come across than a perfect 40. If you ever see this, avoid like the plague.
1-10 = Awful. For a game to score this low on our scale, something is seriously off. Read the review to find out why.
11-15 = Bad. This usually means that 2 or more categories have scored as low as possible. In very rare instances, some people may enjoy these.
16-20 = Not good. These games may have one or two high-scoring categories, but overall, the game falls short.
21-25 = Needs work. Most games that fall between these scores are enjoyable to some degree, but could use some serious work in one or more categories.
26-30 = Average. Most games will fall in this area. Nothing is spectacular about them but nothing really brings the game down. Fans of the genre should enjoy it quite a bit.
31-35 = Great. These games are a cut above the rest. From graphics to presentation, these are sure to impress.
36-39 = Amazing. It's rare to see these scores on our pages. If you do, you can use that as an absolute reccomendation to buy. Guaranteed to impress.
40 = Perfect! For a game to recieve this score, we would probably throw a party to celebrate it's amazingness. Perhaps we'd even give away a copy of it to one of our lucky readers just to show how much it rocks.
